Homeopathy

Just recently I have been looking into the practice of Homeopathy.  See definition -  Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine used by over 200 million people worldwide to treat both acute and chronic conditions. It is based on the principle of ‘like cures like’. In other words, a substance taken in small amounts will cure the same symptoms it causes if taken in large amounts. For example, a patient suffering from hayfever may benefit from the homeopathic remedy Allium Cepa (onion) because it produces similar symptoms such as watery eyes or runny nose.

Homeopathic medicines - known as remedies - are made from substances designed to help stimulate the body’s healing ability. Remedies are prepared - or “potentised” - using a process of repeated dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking).

Being someone who suffers from eczema I was getting fed up of applying hydrocortisone cream each day and I began to look into a more natural way of treating it. I came across a company in the Channel Islands called: www.homeoforce.co.uk who will make up a remedy for you in order to treat whatever complaint you may have.  After doing my research into what can be used for eczema I ordered the following: Sepia Officinalis - Size:14 gram pillules and some Aesculus / Hamamelis / Calendula cream - Size:50 gram.  The Pillules are like little tiny tablets that dissolve on your tongue and they can be ordered in various sizes. The cream comes in a pot and you just apply it to the said place.  As I have only recently started this treatment it is a case of watch this space, however, on applying the cream, the relief I got was amazing! The itching stopped and the redness was calmed.
I am a great believer in alternative medicine and will be writing more about the different practices in the weeks to come.
